KATHMANDU, June 22: A ward candidate of Letang Municipality-6 has passed away on Thursday.

Matrika Prasad Bhandari of Nepali Congress died due to cardiac arrest, according to Ghanashyam Khatiwada, former chairman of Letang Village Development Committee.

Bhandari had filed his nomination for the post of ward member of Letang Municipality-6. 

The Election Commission (EC) has prepared a site report on the death of Bhandari.

EC will decide on whether to postpone the elections at the ward following an all-party meeting, Khatiwada told Republica Online.
