KATHMANDU, June 19: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba shifted to his official residence at Baluwatar from his private residence at Budhanilkantha Monday morning.

Prime Minister Deuba moved into the Baluwatar residence at 5:22 am amid religious rites as advised by his astrologer.  Earlier,  Deuba had taken his oath of office and secrecy  on June 6, the day suggested by the  astrologer.

Deuba  delayed moving into Baluwatar until there was an auspicious day.

Outgoing prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal  vacated  Baluwatar  on the  day parliament elected Deuba as the prime minister of the country on June 6. There were expectations that Deuba, who is also president of the Nepali Congress, would immediately move into Baluwatar in view of his new role as  chief executive of the country.

However, he delayed moving as he not only wanted an auspicious day but also maintenance work to make sure  his office there met all Vastu requirements.

Deuba is learnt to repose a lot of  faith in astrology and Vastu while assuming any new responsibility or  post. It may be recalled that he had ordered a change to the entire setting of his room at the NC party office building following his election as head of the party.
