People's representatives given training against trafficking in person

RATNAGAR, June 10: The people's representatives in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 have been given training against trafficking in persons and about their duties, responsibilities and rights.

The representatives were given orientation training at Kabilas on Friday by a team of Maiti Nepal.

Foreign employment, human trafficking and child rights, and other issues were discussed during the orientation programme, regional programme officer of Maiti Nepal Yubraj Dawadi said.

Newly-elected Chairperson of Ward No. 29, Man Bahadur Ranamagar said that getting orientation on the burning issues was an advantage for them and added that his entire team would remain active against such anti-social activities in the rural areas.

Likewise, newly elected woman member of the ward, Bhim Kumari Thapa, said that the programme would be effectively conducted if a committee was formed in the village itself.
Psycho-social counsellor of Maiti Nepal Jayanti Khanal also expressed her opinions at the training programme. RSS
