KATHMANDU, July 14: Gyanendra Malla's 74 runs and Bikram Sob's four-wicket haul helped Nepal beat Free Forester by 129 runs in a 40-over cricket match played at Indian Gymkhana Cricket Ground in London on Wednesday.
Nepal, being invited to bat first, put up 235/9 after opener Gyanendra scored 74 runs facing only 66 balls, which included nine boundaries. Sharad Veswakar contributed 50 runs off 75 balls. Free Forester's Jake Kings bagged highest three wickets giving away 32 runs in seven overs.
In reply, Free Forester was bowled out for 106 runs in 29.1 overs after Bikram grabbed four wickets giving away only 21 runs in eight overs. Sandeep Lamichhane pocketed three wickets in 5.1 overs conceding only 18 runs. Nepali team is in England tour to play against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord's Cricket Ground on July 19.
