KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi has said 2019 will be crucial in Nepal-China relations as the two countries are facing new development opportunities with the prospect for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Addressing a function to mark the Chinese New Year organized by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, she mentioned that China is happy to see that Nepal has entered the phase of economic development after holding the three-tiers of elections last year.

She said that she is willing to work with the Nepali side to implement the important agreements reached between the top leadership of China and Nepal in the recent past.
“Nepal’s Prime Minister paid a successful visit to China in 2018 and the top leadership of the two countries reached important consensus on promoting pragmatic cooperation in various fields. The two countries agreed to jointly build the Trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network,” she said.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, several ministers and officials attended the function.
