2 land in police net on rape charge

CHITWAN, Oct 26: Chitwan Police have arrested two people on the charge of raping two minor girls.

According to DSP Shiva Sharma, spokesperson of District Police Office, Chitwan the arrested are 52-year-old Devi Prasad Adhikari of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-5 and and 22-year-old Chij Bahadur Gurung alias Suresh of Madi Municipality-8.

Police arrested Adhikari on the charge of raping six-year-old girl. He allegedly raped the minor on October  22.

Chitwan court has ordered the police to investigate him by taking him into the custody.

Similarly, Gurung was arrested for allegedly raping 11-year-old minor girl. Incident took place on October 20.

As per the provision, the police can keep him into the custody for 25 days for investigation and file a case against the accused.
