ILAM, Oct 12: Two people were killed after being crushed by a tree at Mahamai VDC in the district.

The deceased have been identified as Kumar Darjee, 30, and Himar Karki, 18, of Mahamai VDC-2.

Darjee and Karki were driving motorcycles when the tree struck them that came down onto to the road along with the landslide triggered by an incessant rain, District Police Office, Ilam Chief Sushil Kumar Yadav told Republica Online.

 Similarly, Fulmaya Gahatraj, 40, sustained serious injuries in the same incident and now she is undergoing treatment at B and B hospital in Birtamod, said Yadav.
