2,800 students to get induction stoves within a week

KATHMANDU, August 21: The Alternative Energy Promotion Center is set to distribute induction stoves to more than 2,800 students within a week. Dr Ran Bahadur Thapa, assistant director of the center, said that the center is going to distribute induction stoves to 2,865 students from remote areas.

According to Thapa, out of the students who have applied, 7,048 have submitted the necessary documents according to the standards set by the center. Among them, there are 2,865 students studying in government colleges in remote areas who are selected in categories A and B. The center will provide them with induction stoves within a week.

Thapa also mentioned that 4,162 of the students who have applied are from urban areas. The center had requested for distribution of stoves to 12,500 students in two phases.

Earlier, the government had announced plans to provide induction stoves to endangered, tribal and Dalit students who come from remote districts and study in Kathmandu and there here in rented rooms.
