Pressure cooker bomb goes off in Siraha

LAHAN (Siraha), May 11: A pressure cooker bomb was set off at the Sagarmatha Zonal Transport Management office in Lahan in Siraha today noon. No casualties were reported, however. Walls of a toilet of the office had cracks and windowpanes shattered in the explosion. 

The explosion occurred in the office's toilet on the second floor, police said. The explosion caused a brief commotion, sending the people at the incident site running for safety while administrative work of the office closed. Security personnel have also been deployed. 

"The bomb went off while I was holding consultations with other employees in my office," said the office Chief Omkar Prasad Neupane. None has claimed responsibility for the incident so far, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Hira Bahadur, adding that a search has been launched for the persons who planted and exploded the bomb.
