“There was no alternative to resigning,” Bisnhu Bhatta, secretary of Shripur VDC, said. Local administration has, however, said that the secretaries will be requested to withdraw their resignations after consultations with political parties and other stakeholders concerned.
VDC secretaries in at least10 districts have already resigned due to threats from the outfit.
Meanwhile, VDC secretaries of Syangja have returned to work. Earlier, secretaries of all 60 VDCs had tendered resignation due to threats from the group.
