Journos displaced due to death threat

KATHMANDU, March 7: Two Rautahat-based journalists -- Madan Thakur and Prem Chandra Jha -- have been displaced from the district due to threat to their life by a local contractor.



Ram Prasad Patel of Gorkha Construction Company threatened to kill Thakur, a jouranlist with Ujyaalo 90 FM, and Prem Chandra Jha, chairman of Rautahat chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), over a news report broadcast by the FM radio Friday, the Communication Corner chapter of the FNJ in its statement said Saturday.



The news report was about the use of low quality materials by the construction company in the constructing of a building of Armed Police Force at Gaur Municipality-13, the statement said. The FNJ chapter has demanded action against the culprit.
