India provides logistical supports to EC for local polls

KATHMANDU, May 1: The Indian government has provided logistical supports to the Election Commission (EC) for the upcoming local level elections. 

At a program, held at the EC on Monday, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri handed over the different types of vehicles to the Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav. The vehicles includes 35 double cabin pickups, seven Scorpio jeeps, four sedan cars, one XUV car, one minibus, one microbus 30 motorcycles and seven scooters of worth Rs 89.17 million. 

During the program, Indian envoy Puri congratulated the EC on the extensive preparations to hold the upcoming local level polls in a free and fair manner. He wished on behalf of the Indian government and people of India to the EC for the successful conduction of the election. 

Speaking at the same program, Chief Commissioner Yadav thanked the government and people of India for the extensive support for the election. During the program, it was informed that the  vehicles would be used in different parts of the country during the election .
