Three alleged human traffickers arrested on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, April 28: Police has arrested four persons on charge of selling Nepali women to Oman for more than one hundred thousand under the pretext of foreign employment on Wednesday.

The team dispatched by Central Investigation Bureau(CIB) of Nepal Police apprehended Tok Bahadur Tamang aka Saroj of Sindhupalchowk ,  Medani Prasad Prasai of Jhapa and Nima Lama of Sindhupalchowk on the charge of human trafficking.

According to Mira Chaudhari, Superintendent of Police at the CIB, their preliminary probe into the case has shown that innocent Nepali women are first taken to New Delhi and to Oman from there via airplane and that those who play a role in taking Nepali  women there are paid Rs 130,000 per woman.

Those who were arrested had been working through “division of labor” of the whole process involved in selling Nepali women. Tok Bahadur used to take innocent women wanting to go abroad for employment from villages to Kathmandu. Medani of Jhapa used to collect passports sent by Saroj and make arrangement for air ticket for travel from Kathmandu to Delhi. Nima of Sindhupalchowk used to keep a record of women and send the passports via courier service.
