DHANGADHI, April 20: Both Rupandehi Challengers and Dhangadhi Team Chauraha’s skippers Shakti Gauchan and Paras Khadka have said that the Dhangadhi Premier League T20 cricket Tournament’s play-off match scheduled on Thursday will be do or die for them.
Rupandehi Challengers which faced defeat at the hands of Biratnagar Kings in the first qualifier match on Wednesday will have to register win against Chauraha which overcame Kathmandu Goldens in the eliminator match to make place in the summit clash.
The play-off clash between Rupandehi Challengers and Chauraha will be second meeting between the two sides in the ongoing tournament. Shakti led side had lost its last league round match to Chauraha by six wickets.
Rupandehi Challengers’ captain veteran Shakti Gauchan said that his team has no alternative than playing good cricket. “We are in crucial moment after losing the first qualifier match against Biratnagar Kings. We have to play good cricket and seal the victory if we want to go nearer to the title,” said Gauchan.
“Despite Chauraha’s early poor form in the tournament, their team is quite strong studded with talented players. So we have to be careful when we meet them again,” said Gauchan.
“Given the three straight defeats in the first three matches of the league round, we took all the remaining matches as finals and now we are here. We want to reach final but we have to overcome Rupandehi Challengers and that match is do or die for us,” said Khadka who is also national team skipper.
“We are enjoying good form lately and we want to replicate it on Thursday as well. Rupandehi Challengers is very strong team with top quality players so we have to give our best in order to make it to the finals,” he added.
Chauraha’s skipper Khadka also said that he is not worried about the toss. “We are ready in both bowling and batting aspects so we are not really worried about toss. We have ability to pull victory by setting the target or fielding first,” further added Khadka.
