RUKUM, May 25: Fifteen locals were injured in clashes over yarsagumba on Tuesday. Of them, five were seriously injured.

The clashes occurred at Dware Patan, an area that lies along the border of Rukum and Dolpa districts. Among the injured are children, women, and the elderly.

The clashes occurred after locals of Rukum were heading for Majhkot VDC of Dolpa to pick up the valuable herb, prized for its aphrodisiac properties.

Locals of Dolpa intercepted them saying that they would not allow outsiders to pick the herb in their district leading to the clashes.
