Nepal XI defeats Dhangadi XI by 31 runs

DHANGADI, April 09: Nepal XI has defeated Dhangadi XI by 31 runs in the first game of Dhangadi Premier League that kicked off from Sunday.

In the charity T-20 match played at SSP Cricket Ground, Dhangadi, Nepal XI won the toss and chose to bat. With the loss of eight wickets, Nepal XI scored 161 runs.

Captain Paras Khadka scored highest 68 runs (not out) with seven fours and four sixes off 44 balls. Likewise, Basanta Regmi hit 43 runs off 38 balls that included four fours and three sixes.

For Dhangadi XI. Bikram Thagunna took four wickets sparing 21 runs. Likewise, Sagar Bhandari and KC Padam took single wicket each.

With the target of 162 runs, Dhangadi XI team was invited to the crease in the second innings. However, the team could not meet the target and made 130 runs in 20 overs.

For the team, Sunil Dhamala scored the highest 34 runs off 30 balls with the contribution of four fours and single six. Dipendra Singh Airee scored 26 runs by 18 balls with two fours and two sixes.

Shakti Gauchan took three wickets sparing 24 runs whereas Sompal Kami took two wickets for the Nepal XI team.

The charity match was played to contribute in the construction of Fapla International Cricket Ground.
