17-kilo gold smuggler sent to jail

RASUWA, June 5: The district court has ordered to send a smuggler to jail on Tuesday.

RASUWA, June 5: The district court has ordered to send a smuggler to jail on Tuesday. Karsang Dawa Tamang, 31, of Aamachodingmo Rural Municipality of the district, was sent to serve his jail term for his alleged involvement in smuggling 17-kilo gold.

The court had slapped Tamang with three years jail term and Rs 81.49 penalty. However, Tamang shared that he could not pay the penalty, the court ordered additional jail term for Tamag equivalent of the penalty.


Police had nabbed Tamang with 17 kilos of illegal gold smuggled through Kerung of China at Timure check-post of the district on November 18.
