KATHMANDU, July 28: Relatives have identified 17 of the 18 victims who lost their lives in the recent Saurya Airlines plane crash.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Dan Bahadur Karki, the central spokesperson of Nepal Police, reported that 17 out of the 18 deceased individuals have been identified by their families as of Saturday evening. The identification process followed post-mortem examinations conducted at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

Relatives identified five bodies on Friday and 12 on Saturday. Of the 19 crew members aboard the Saurya Airlines plane that crashed near Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday, 18 lost their lives. Captain Manish Ratna Shakya was the sole survivor in the accident.
Captain Shakya, who sustained injuries in the crash, was promptly rescued and transported to Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal, where he was treated in the intensive care unit. According to a hospital, his health condition is now normal.
