SAPTARI, July 8: Two persons have died in separate incidents in the last two days in the district. A 15-year-old boy died due to electric shock while a minor, 4, went missing after being drowned in a canal.

According to the District Police Office, Saptari, Manish Kumar of Maletha VDC-4 died after being electrocuted on Wednesday. Kumar, who had gone to his paddy filed for irrigation, was electrocuted while switching on an electricity-run water pump.

Critically injured Kumar breathed his last while being rushed to Rajbiraj-based Sagarmatha Hospital.

Similary, Rishi Kumar Mandal, 4, son of Rajkumar Mandal of Yoginimai Municipality, has gone missing after being drowned in a monsoon-fed Koshi Pashchimi canal. Police have been searching for him with the help of locals.
