BAJURA, March 17: A teenager was found dead and his two sisters injured after being struck by lightning on Thursday evening.

According to police, fourteen-year-old Sher Bahadur Karki of Rugin VDC died on the spot after being struck by lightning. The family members had just finished their meal and were about to go to sleep when the incident took place. Chandan Karki, father of the deceased, has remained mum ever since the incident. His daughter Jhumkala, 17, and Junu, 10, have also sustained serious injuries. 

Some of the family members were knocked unconscious as the lightning entered from the east side of the house. 

As informed by Police Inspector Sudam Rawal, the lightning has severely burned the legs of both the girls and their condition is said to be critical. With the help of the locals and the police, the injured have been admitted to Primary Health Centre, Kolti for treatment.

Lightning even killed two bullocks and a goat of the same house and has also damaged the house.
