16 more cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Sunsari

ITAHARI, June 5: Sixteen more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Sunsari district on Friday.

ITAHARI, June 5: Sixteen more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Sunsari district on Friday.


According to the District Public Health Office, Inaruwa, a total of 12 males at Harinagar quarantine facility and three other males currently living in a quarantine facility at Barju Rural Municipality in the district tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

Also, an eight-year old girl currently undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan has tested positive for COVID-19.


Of the 16 new cases in the district, 15 recently returned home from India.


While 65 persons have been kept at a quarantine facility in Harinagar, 42 others have been kept at a quarantine facility set up in Barju Rural Municipality.


The new cases were confirmed through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests conducted at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan and Koshi Hospital-based Provincial Laboratory, Biratnagar.
