KATHMANDU,March 6: The eighth edition of National Children Theater Festival concluded on Sunday. The five-day festival was held at Russian Center of Science and Culture in Kathmandu.
Altogether 14 different plays were performed at the festival. Students from different schools performed in the plays. The main objective of the competition was to groom new generation of theater artists and encourage educational institutions and social organizations to take theater as an integral part of their activities so as to bolster the personality of students and members.
‘Jaleyko Chim’ won the best play award. Samjhana Parajuli and Alex Tamang from ‘Dr. Aalo Kaalo’ won the public choice award and emerging actor award respectively. Prabhakar Neupane of Fulbright School won the best director award for ‘Kumariko Ghar’. Rohan Khadka of United Academy became youngest actor to get best actor award for ‘Kubeyla’. Supriya Nepal of Mahendra Aadarsha School won best female actor award for her role in ‘Agyanata Ko Patti’.
