ITAHARI, July 20: 15 protesters were arrested from Itahari during a protest for the cancellation of the public service commission advertisement on Saturday.

Ram Kumar Rai, President of Indigenous Committee, Sunsari, along with other 15 representatives were arrested by the police.

The committee demanded an end to commission’s examination scheduled on Saturday stating that the advertisement was against federal and proportional inclusion.

Nepal Indigenous federation of province-1 held the protest to protect the reservation system. Meanwhile, Nepal Indigenous Federation submitted their memorandum against the PSC’s advertisement to Nepali Congress chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday.

Likewise, President Umesh Mainali and other members of Indigenous Federation burned the effigy of Lal Babu Pandit in Itahari Chowk on Friday.
