15 health workers suspended for their absence in duty stations

KATHMANDU, May 15: The Ministry of Health and Population has suspended 15 health workers who remained absent in the duty stations for treatment of the earthquake survivors in the quake-hit areas.

According to Ministry's spokesperson Dr Gunaraj Lohani, so far 15 government health workers deputed in district health office, health post and sub-health post have been suspended on the charge of failing to turn up in their work stations during the time of crisis.

On Friday, the Ministry suspended Usha Poudel Kabiraj of Thansingh Ayurved Office, a fifth-level non-gazetted officer. Earlier, 14 health workers including doctors were suspended.

Likewise, the ministry has issued a notice seeking applications for medical officers (eighth-level) and psycho-social advisors to deploy in the quake-affected districts. RSS
