Attariya gears up for women's cricket tournament

DHANGADI, Feb 11: The Twenty20 National Women's Cricket Tournament carrying the highest cash prize yet in the country is set to take place at Attariya of Kailali from April, 27, 2017. 

The Attariya United Sports Club is organizing the event. At a press conference held on Friday, the Club stated that it has set a cash prize of more than Rs 400,000. 

Club Chairman Ravi Khanal said the women's cricket competition was being held with the highest award yet in the country to elevate women's cricket at a time when men are making expected progress in the sport. 

The winning team will receive Rs 200,000 while the first-runner up will be awarded with Rs 100,000. The best player of the tournament will go home with Rs 25,000 while the best batswoman, best bowler and best wicket keeper will receive Rs 10,000 each. After every game, the 'woman of the match' will receive Rs 3,000 in cash prize. RSS
