TERHATHUM, Feb 9: The Randal community school in Iwa VDC of Terhathum has set up a fund of Rs. 4 million to run classes in English medium and provide computer education to the students.
The school had initiated a campaign during its silver jubilee celebrations, which has led to collection of more than 4 million rupees, head teacher Jaya Prakash Ingnam said. The school decided to set up the fund after introduction of classes in English medium and computer education attracted students.
It has been four years since the school began providing computer education classes and three years since students began taking classes in English medium as well. English medium class is now available up to Grade 3 and will continue to rise.
Due to lack of clear policy on part of the government, the fund raising campaign had to be carried out to meet the need for skilled teachers, said Chair of the school management committee Khadga Prasad Ingnam.
The school founders, teachers, staff, local parents and guardian, social workers, non-resident Nepalis and donors have contributed to the fund. RSS
