BIRGUNJ, Feb 7: As many as 10 people were injured after a tiger attacked them at Lakhanpur VDC in Parsa district on Tuesday.
The injured are Motilal Yadav, Tufan Patel, Asman Patel, Dukhi Patel, Mahendra Patel, Raghubir Sah, Laxman Patel of Lakhanpur VDC and Mahendra Sahani of Ramnagari.
Similarly, Inspector Chakra Bahadur Sah and Assistant Sub Inspector Arun Kumar Jha were also injured while they were trying to take the wild beast under control.
According to police, Janan Chaudhary, a contractor, informed the locals about the tiger after he saw the wild beast near a pond at 11 am today.
No sooner the contractor informed the locals than they turned up at the site to have a look at the tiger. Annoyed by the mob, the wild beast pounced upon the curious onlookers, leaving them injured.
Police are trying to catch the four-foot tall tiger that sneaked into the village.
