BHAKTAPUR, Feb 2: The students leaders have said that no power can impede the Free Students Union (FSU) elections scheduled for February 25.
The scheduled FSU polls will not be impeded by any forces, they claimed, arguing that the Tribhuvan University (TU) has already unveiled its election schedule along with the code of conduct.
If any reactionary forces conspire to foil the process, the three big students unions will fight it.
Speaking at an interaction organized by Rafat Sanchar Club in Bhaktapur today, the union leaders expressed their belief that the date fixed by the TU will not be postponed.
TU has scheduled the FSU poll for February 25.
The students unions have agreed to follow the elections code of conduct coming into force from Thursday.
Expressing her views at the interaction, All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) Chairman Sunita Baral said that she is upbeat about the timely holding of the elections.
Similarly, Nepal Students Union (NSU) Central President Dilli Raj Subedi expressed readiness to hold the FSU elections that had been on hold since long.
