KATHMANDU, March 26: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) leader Ashok Rai has said that even in the age of republican and federal system, the series of killings of those seeking identity has not stopped.
Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he said that 59 people who demanded the right to identity were killed in Madhesh during the promulgation of the constitution, and now the series is continuing in the movement against the naming of Koshi Province.
"There is no end to the series of such tragic events. As many as 59 people were killed in the Madhesh revolt, which took place in connection with the promulgation of the constitution. Rai said, "We have established a republic with a democratic system of federalism. But within this republic, democracy and federalism, the link of the chain of taking the lives of protesters demanding identity has been added. It is reprehensible.
Padma Bahadur Limbu died on March 24 during the movement of identity supporters against the naming of Koshi Province.
