KATHMANDU, March 21: Chairman of CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli has instructed the parliamentarians of the party to start preparing for registering amendments to the transitional justice bill presented in parliament.
Addressing a meeting of the party's parliamentary party held at the Lhotse Hall of the Parliament Building on Monday, he gave these instructions to the party's MPs.
He directed that parliament should be informed about the points to be discussed in the presented bill and he would study it thoroughly and start preparations to amend the bill. He said that the MPs of the party should have one voice in parliament and asked them not to speak “according to your own sweet will”. He said that parliamentary activities should be promoted by maintaining the dignity of parliament. Chairman Oli said that he is in favor of making the bill presented in parliament error-free, in favor of the people and in favor of democracy and development.
He said, “We should speak together, let's not use many languages because we know ourselves, when we speak, let's all speak the same language. Let's talk in a rhythm. That happens fast. We must maintain the dignity of our parliamentary party. We have to respect the dignity of parliament. Various bills are coming to parliament now. We want to make the bill error-free. We want to make it in favor of the country. We want to make it in favor of the people. We want to make it in favor of democracy and development. That is why we want to make amendments. We will discuss and proceed with amendments. This is how we discuss the amendment regarding TRC. Please note down the points to be discussed accordingly, we may forget. We will discuss what kind of amendment.”
