Two fuel tank drivers arrested for theft

BIRGUNJ, Jan 25: Police arrested two fuel tank drivers red handed and took under control two tankers in Birgunj yesterday. 

A crime branch team deputed from the District Police Office, Parsa acted on a special tip-off to carry out raids at two separate locations. 

According to a timetable at the Birgunj Oil Corporation, a tanker (Na 2 Kha 3824) importing fuel from the Indian Oil Corporation depot was tasked with unloading the fuel at the Satyam Oil Corporation at Parwanipur in Bara district. But instead its driver, Shambhu Pandey, of Murli of Birgunj Sub Metropolis, was caught while supplying the fuel to a petrol station at Gandak area.

In another incident, driver of another tanker (Na 2 Kha 3823), Mukesh Kumar Kurmi, of Bahuari – 1 of Birgunj Sub Metropolis, was arrested while unloading fuel at Bara's Reserve Oil Corporation instead of supplying it to Bara's Badhban Pump. 

The police confiscated tools being used by the two drivers to break open the seal and vessels to hoard petroleum products, Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Chakra Raj Joshi, of District Police Office, Parsa. Police are carrying out necessary investigation into the matter. RSS
