Karnali government announces to give holiday on “People's War” day

SURKHET, Feb 7: Karnali  Province government has decided to give a public holiday on February 13 on the occasion of the ‘People's War Day’.  A meeting of the Council of Ministers of Karnali Province held on Monday decided to give a public holiday on February 13 for public offices of the province.

The cabinet meeting also decided to appoint Internal Affairs and Law Minister Krishna Bahadur GC as the spokesperson of the provincial government. 

The government decided to merge the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation to form the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources.

However, the budget will be spent as per the announcement made earlier. 

That means the budget allocated for physical infrastructure and energy will be implemented separately until the end of the current fiscal year.

The cabinet meeting also authorized the secretaries of the two ministries to work in their respective areas as before. “It has been decided that the secretaries of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources will work in their respective areas according to their previous responsibilities,” Spokesperson GC said.

According to Spokesperson GC, the cabinet meeting has decided to conduct an organizational and management survey of the merged ministries by the end of this fiscal year and determine the structure and human resources required by the ministry and its subordinate bodies. He also said that the provincial government has decided to hold cabinet meetings twice every month from now on.

“It has been decided that the meeting of the Council of Ministers will be held on Wednesday of the second and fourth weeks of every month from the second week of February  at 4 PM,” he said.
