135 polling booths security-sensitive in Mahottari

MAHOTTARI, September 5: The District Security Committee (DSC), Mahottari has marked 135 out of 258 polling booths in Mahottari as sensitive in terms of security. 

Kiran Pokhrel, Chief Election Officer of the district, informed that security needs to be beefed up especially in 135 polling booths for the third phase of local elections scheduled for September 18.

A total of 97 polling booths have been listed as highly-sensitive while 26 have been listed as sensitive. Most of the security-sensitive polling stations are located near the Nepal-India border. A large number of security personnel will be deployed in the areas in order to avoid any untoward incident during the elections.

 
As informed by DSC, a mobile team has already been recruited in the sensitive areas in order to ensure safety.
