JUMLA, Dec 6: Incidents of violence against women are increasing in Jumla. According to the data of the District Police Office, Jumla, the incidents of violence against women in Jumla have increased rapidly in the past three years.
According to the Women and Children Service Center under the District Police Office, Jumla, 79 complaints were registered in the financial year 2077/078, 115 in the financial year 2078/079 and 51 complaints in the current financial year so far. In 2077/078, there were 44 complaints about social violence, 35 about domestic violence. Similarly, in the financial year 2078/079, 54 cases of social violence and 61 incidents of domestic violence were reported.
Similarly, information officer of the District Police Office, Jumla, Yam Bahadur Budhamgar, said that 20 complaints of social violence and 31 complaints of domestic violence have been registered so far in the current financial year. When the statistics of three financial years are compared, the incidents of domestic violence are increasing.
