MORANG, Dec 5: Birat Expo is all set to kick off on December 15 at the Degree Campus in Biratnagar-14. Chamber of Industries Morang has said that the international trade exhibition will be held until December 21.
Addressing a press conference in Biratnagar on Sunday, Chamber of Industries Morang said that it is organizing the seventh edition of the expo with the aim of supporting the national economy through industrial development. The chamber has been organizing the expo continuously since the last 26 years. The organisers during the press conference informed that even though they have been organizing the expo continuously since 2053, they could not provide continuity during political instability and COVID-19.
Stating that this expo is an industrial expo, there will be direct exchange of professional experience between producers and consumers, Expo coordinator Bholeshwar Dulal said, “This time, the expo will be different and new from the past. The purpose of the expo is not only to exhibit and sell the products of the industry, but also to promote the tourism sector of Province 1 and to promote the commercialization of agricultural products.”
This time, the expo will help in the business development of startups. This will greatly contribute to widening the productivity and market scope of indigenous products. Dulal, the coordinator of the expo, said that technical sessions, interactions and seminars on various topics will be organized on a daily basis in order to exchange experience through policy discussions on thematic issues of the economic and industrial sectors.
Another main attraction of the expo is an investment pavilion for potential areas of investment in Province 1, a startup pavilion to develop the entrepreneurship of new entrepreneurs, a separate pavilion for labor-employment and skill sectors and a separate pavilion for the tourism sector.
There will be 361 stalls in the expo. The expo will showcase products from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, with priority given to indigenous products. According to the chamber, there will be local dishes, singing competition and various musical events.
