APF climbs on top of Dhorpatan volleyball

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) has climbed atop the points table in the ongoing Dhorpatan Double League Women's Volleyball Tournament beating host Dhorpatan Sports Club on Thursday. APF overcame the challenge of host team 25-11, 25-10, 25-8 and extended its points tally to 36 from 13 matches. Reed Model, which has 33 points, has two-match advantage over the leader and stands second.

Reed Model's chance of maintaining top place was blown away after its match scheduled against New Diamond was postponed due to bad light.

New Diamond produced victory against Tribhuvan Army Club in straight sets. New Diamond beat Army 25-22, 25-11, 25-7 to strengthen its grip on third position. Following the win, New Diamond has 30 points from 12 matches.

In another match of the day, Nepal Police Club defeated Western Region 26-24, 21-25, 25-16, 25-23 and extended its tally to 24 points. Police has played 13 matches and stands firmly in fourth position.

Losing side Western Region is fifth with 21 points from 13 matches. Similarly, Army and Dhorpatan are in sixth and seventh places with 15 and eight points respectively.
