ILAM, Nov 24: Runaway leader Ram Bahadur Ranamagar of CPN (UML) has almost secured a seat in the Province Assembly of Ilam-2. With just 2,560 votes remaining to be counted, Ranamagar is ahead by 2,442 votes against his nearest rival.
While Ranamagar has secured 12,620 votes so far, Harak Lawati Kanchha of CPN (Maoist Center) obtained 10,178 votes. Now there are only 1,126 votes in Ward 6 and 1,434 votes in Ward 7 of Phakphokthum Rural Municipality, which are still to be counted in this constituency.
UML central member Ranamagar was earlier the Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Province 1. He had won the 2017 election from Provincial Assembly of Ilam-2.
