SINDHULI, Nov 23: The Maoist Center has registered its first win in the House of Representatives elections from Sindhuli.
Lekhnath Dahal (Rajan) of the Maoist Center, who became a candidate on behalf of the ruling coalition in Sindhuli Constituency No. 2, has won with 27,517 votes.
His closest rival Manoj Jang Thapa of the CPN-UML got 21,687 votes. After being elected, a victory rally was taken out in Sindhuli Constituency No. 2 on behalf of the alliance.
The Left-Democratic Alliance has won the provincial assembly seats (a) and (b) of Sindhuli-2.
Similarly, in the provincial assembly seat 2 (b), Ganga Narayan Shrestha, a leader close to Baburam Bhattarai has won by securing 13,001 votes. His nearest rival Ramkumar Paudel of the CPN-UML got 9,789 votes.
