KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa is set to be elected as a member of House of Representatives (HoR) from Kathmandu 4.
Thapa is set to be elected as a member of the lower house of the federal parliament, defeating his rival Rajan Bhattarai of CPN-UML with a huge margin.
So far, a total of 43,396 of the total 48,859 votes cast have been counted in this constituency. Even as 5,463 votes are yet to be counted, Thapa has already maintained a lead with 6,834.
In the counting so far, Thapa has got 20,417 votes while UML's Bhattarai has got 13,032 votes. Similarly, RPP got 3,693 votes and the candidate with the stick symbol has secured 1,133 votes.
