KATHMANDU, Oct 18: CPN (Maoist Center) has decided not to take action against rebel candidates contesting upcoming election against party and coalition's official candidates if they withdraw their candidacy.

According to Chief Secretary at the CPN (Maoist Center)'s Central Office, Shree Ram Dhakal, there would be no action against them and their proposers and seconders if they publicly renounce their candidacy for the upcoming House of Representatives and Province Assembly election by Monday evening.

The House of Representatives and provincial assemblies elections are slated for November 20 this year.

Furthermore, the rebel candidates withdrawing their candidacy officially should pledge to actively work to ensure victory for the official candidates representing CPN (Maoist Center) and other coalition partners, said Chief Secretary Dhakal.

Earlier, the CPN (Maoist Center) had warned to relieve the rebel candidates, their proposers and supporters of their responsibilities and to expel them from the party if they did not renounce their candidacy.
