List of documents required to register candidature

KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Nominations for the first-past-the-post (FTPT) system of elections are being registered today for the elections to be held on November 20.

The Election Commission has said that nomination papers can be registered by visiting the offices of the Chief Returning Officer and Returning Officer under their jurisdiction.

The commission has said that the candidates should submit their nomination papers to the electoral officer's office by 5 PM today.

These are the documents required to register the candidature:

1. Copy of candidate's citizenship certificate or voter ID card,

2. Proof of their name included in the voter list,

3. A copy of the voter ID card of the proposer and the seconder or a proof of the name in the voter list,

4. In the case of party candidates, a formal letter according to Section 19 (as per Schedule-7 of House of Representatives Election and Provincial Assembly Member Election Guide, 2079),

5. Cash Receipt or Bank Voucher of Deposit,

6. Self-declaration (as per Annex-6 of House of Representatives Election and Provincial Assembly Member Election Directive, 2079),

7. Sealed envelope of candidate's property details (according to Annex-9, House of Representatives Election and Provincial Assembly Member Election Directive, 2079),

8. Candidate's personal details form (according to the Annex-10 of the House of Representatives Election and Provincial Assembly Member Election Directive, 2079).
