13 injured, 2 seriously in Panchthar jeep mishap

PANCHTHAR, July 28: As many as 13 people were injured when a jeep veered off and fell some 200 meters down the road at Saranta along the Mechi Highway on Friday.

The accident took place when the jeep, Me 11892, was heading to Memeng of Falelung Rural Municipality from district the headquarters Phidim.

According to District Police Office, Panchthar, the injured in the incident are Ramila Khapangi, her son Lakki, Samip Gurung of Memeng, Shikha Tamang, 3, Bikram Rai of Phidim, Mira Tamang of Bharapa, Hem Raj Khanal, Tej Bahadur Gurung of Memeng, Bal Bahadur Khatri of Ektin, Bhanu Bhakta Khanal of Bharapa, Dawa Gurng, Nima Gurung and Bal Bahadur Gurung of Memeng.

The condition of Ramila and her son Lakki is said to be critical. They have been referred to Birtamod for further treatment.

The other injured are receiving treatment at Panchthar District Hospital.
