DHANUSHA, Jan 12: The eighth memorial day of first martyr journalist of Janakpur Uma Singh was observed here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, the Federation of Nepali Journalists Dhanusa Chapter organised an illumination programme at the local Janaki temple in the evening. Media persons of Janakpur took part in the event, paying heartfelt tributes to late Singh.
The 25-year-old Singh, working for Radio Today, Janakpur, was murdered by an unidentified group at her rented quarters in Janakpur-14 in September, 2013. Three people involved in the murder have already been sentenced to life in prison. Some accomplices are still on the run. RSS
