KATHMANDU, July 16: Federal Council Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Dr Baburam Bhattarai has condemned the action taken against him and other leaders close to him by the party's establishment faction. He has also demanded the party leadership to withdraw the decision.
After JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav decided to take action against nine leaders of the party including Bhattarai, he issued a statement on Friday night and appealed to everyone to join in the reorganization of the new party. Chairman Yadav clarified that they have been punished for involving in action against the party's rules, regulations and procedures.
JSP leader Mohammad Istiaq Rai said the meeting of the party is called by the party chairman and it is up to the other leaders to decide whether to take part in the meeting.
Federal Council Chairman Bhattarai has also appealed to all the central members who have been working continuously for the transformation of the party to reorganize in the new party. "We strongly condemn this action and dismiss the action. In this situation, there is no option before us than to reorganize the party," said Dr Bhattarai in a statement .
Separate meetings of the party were held under the leadership of Yadav and Dr Bhattarai. Yadav took a decision to relieve Dr Bhattarai and leaders close to this fact from all responsibilities while Dr Bhattarai took a decision to reorganize the party.
