Nepse inches up 11.68 points on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, July 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday inched up 11.68 points to close at 1,927.28 points.

The market that opened at 1,915.61 points went to as low as 1,908.89 points within the first half an hour of the trading started for the day. However, the index soared to a maximum of 1,947.53 points before coming down around 20 points in the rest of the trading hours.

All 13 trading groups posted gains in their average share prices, with non-life insurance adding the largest of 74.47 points in its index. The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also gained 2.09 points.

The single-day turnover stood at Rs 1.70 billion, down from Rs 2.32 billion on Monday.

Arun Kabeli Power Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 79.58 million. Saptakoshi Development Bank Limited had the highest percentage gain in its share price while Naya Sarathi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the topmost loser.
