KATHMANDU, June 29: The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order in a writ petition seeking to stop re-polling in Bajura's Budhiganga Municipality.
A joint bench of Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki and Justice Sushmalatha Mathema issued the order on Tuesday. The Election Commission had decided to conduct repolling in Budhiganga municipality on July 7.
Dal Bahadur Sawad of Budhiganga Municipality had filed a writ petition against the decision of the commission and demanded recounting of votes instead of holding election again. The apex court has now paved the way to hold elections in the municipality on July 7.
The Election Commission had earlier canceled the poll held in April and decided to hold the polls again.
