KARNALI, March 20: The CPN (Maoist Center) has suspended its Karnali Province Assembly (PA) chief whip Thammar Bista from the post. The party accused him of violating the party code of conduct.
According to the party source, following this, Bista is now no longer the party’s chief whip for the Karnali PA. It may be noted that Bista had earlier submitted his resignation as the province lawmaker but was officially asked to withdraw and get back to his regular business.
Later on March 18, his resignation was accepted by the Province Speaker Raj Bahadur Shahi.
Party leader and former Chief Minister of the Province Mahendra Bahadur Shahi in a press statement today said the party suspended Bista for his opinion against the party’s statute and the violation of the party direction to pull out his resignation.
With the acceptance of Bista’s resignation by the Speaker and his suspension from the party, the post he was occupying has turned vacant, according to the PA Secretariat.
