KATHMANDU, March 11: The Election Commission (EC) of Nepal is holding discussions with the leaders of all major political parties on Friday to brief them about the progress made so far for holding the upcoming local level election.
The EC is expected to inform politicians about the progress made so far to hold the polls and solicit support of political parties. EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel stated that representatives of 17 political parties have been invited to the EC at 11:30 AM on Friday.
"Almost a month has passed since the announcement of the poll. The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss and conduct interaction to receive feedback from parties," Poudel said.
The EC has asked political parties to send two representatives along with a leader for the consultation meeting. A total of 80 political parties have submitted their application in the EC for the purpose of local level election.
