KATHMANDU, Feb Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Center) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged the Maoist constituents scattered in different groups to unite. Extending his best wishes in a message on the occasion of the 27th People's War Day, he has called upon the Maoist splinter groups to unite to address the problems facing the country.
The present changes could be further strengthened and enriched if the forces fighting for change were united, he said in the message. "Celebrating the People's War Day will hold meaning, significance and justification only if there is unity among the transformative revolutionary forces. The role of the People's War has been of far-reaching importance in the history of Nepal, as it institutionalized the federal democratic republic after the joint people's movement of 2062/63 BS which was completed on the basis of People's War. The drafting of a new constitution through the Constituent Assembly and the ensuring of a federal republican system of government as well as secular, inclusive and proportional representation in the country was also a contribution of the People's War. ”
Stating that domestic and foreign reactionary forces are still trying to reverse the change brought about by the sacrifices of the people and discredit the leaders and the party, Dahal has appealed to all party leaders and cadres and well-wishers to unite and move forward to defeat all kinds of reactionary conspiracies.
In the message, Dahal also makes a special request to all the Maoist leaders and cadres, who participated in the people's war, to move forward jointly in accordance with the spirit of the people's war and to defend the Federal Democratic Republic.
