KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has demanded the government for the removal of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Kumari Yadav from her post over her controversial remarks that sought to glorify violence.
General Secretary Sharma suggested that the minister should admit her mistake and apologize or that the party concerned should ask for his resignation for her irresponsible statement.
Although various groups and parties have raised concerns over Minister Yadav’s statement, her own party, Janata Samaj Party (JSP) has remained quiet on the matter.
Addressing a program organized in Rautahat on Wednesday, Minister Yadav said that mass murder of cadres of CK Raut-led party could take place again while expressing her agitation toward Janmat Party Chairman CK Raut.
At a program organized by the then CPN (Maoist Center) in Rautahat on March 21, 2007, the cadres of the then Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum attacked it. As many as 27 Maoist cadres were killed in the attack. The Forum was led by JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, who is now a coalition partner.
